Meet Dr. Jeffrey Yager

Thank you for your interest! I welcome the opportunity to let you know a little bit about who I am, what my philosophy of Plastic Surgery is, and why I think my center is special.

Ever since I was in nursery school, I wanted to be a doctor. I didn't know then that I would specialize in Plastic Surgery, but I was committed to medicine. I attended The Johns Hopkins University, as it was the best premedical education in the country. More doctors in the US are Hopkins graduates than any other college! I graduated with honors, and was named to the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society, where I served as an elected officer.

EDUCATION

I was accepted for Medical School by Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. It was there that I found my true calling in Plastic Surgery. I was honored to be selected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society, where less than 10% of students are chosen. This led to one of only 10 positions in the country at the time for a combined residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

AWARDS/HONORS

During my residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, I published several articles, and won awards for my research from the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF) and the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons. I completed my training by being named Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery before entering private practice.

I opened my center right across from the Columbia Presbyterian Campus, in a private ground level suite. My vision was to establish a center of excellence in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery of the face, breast and body where the décor, colors, staff, and atmosphere instantly evoke a feeling of comfort, style, and professionalism. I treat patients of every ethnicity, and enjoy the unique challenges each skin type brings. As we are in Washington Heights, my fluency in Spanish allows me to continue my special commitment to the Hispanic community by providing a fully bilingual staff with specialized techniques and products for darker skin types. At Columbia, I unfortunately saw many plastic surgical disasters from overseas, and wanted to create a safe environment for the Spanish speaking patient to be educated and treated with the care and respect they deserve. I am proud to say we are succeeding beautifully.

Performing cosmetic plastic surgery is a privilege, and we do not take our responsibility to your safety lightly. I always put our patients' health first, educate our patients about the risks and alternatives of all treatments, and minimize risks wherever possible. I make sure each member of my staff does the same. Our brand new certified ambulatory surgery center and 2 floor redesigned state-of-the-art office shows our commitment to our patients. I continue to maintain admitting privileges at the New York University Downtown Hospital, so that I may care for my patients who are more safely managed in a hospital environment. It is important to me to create the most natural results possible, so that no one can tell that you had surgery.

We will work together to insure that I know what you are looking for, and by using the latest in computer imaging, I can give you an honest idea of what to expect.
