Following one of the most magical and joyful times in the lives of women, the birth of their children, many are quite distressed at the changes in physical appearance of their bodies that often occur. Breasts become engorged in order to feed the children, and eventually can sag and take on an almost deflated and sagging appearance. The abdomen that created space for the growth of the child can stretch, causing the muscles to separate, and the skin to tear and create stretch marks. Dark spots can appear on the cheeks and forehead. While the thrill of motherhood often overshadows these physical changes, some women eventually become frustrated with their appearance and desire a change.
It still amazes me that so many women, and even some OB-GYNs, are not informed of the many wonderful options available today to restore, and sometimes even improve upon, the pre-pregnancy shape. I have lectured on this topic often, to share my advances with other healthcare providers, in the hopes of educating as many women as possible. With refinements in minimal incision surgery, and safer anesthetic techniques, most procedures can be done as an outpatient in our state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center.

I encourage you to review sections of this website for details on Breast Lifts, Breast Augmentation, and Breast Reduction, as one or more of these topics may apply. It is important that you have not been breast feeding for at least 3 months prior to having breast surgery, and that the surgery you choose may decrease your ability to breast feed in the future. You should also be aware that a future pregnancy may change the appearance of your breasts, as in women who have never had breast surgery. If you are happy with your breast size in an unpadded bra, and just feel they are sagging, a Breast Lift is usually the best option. If they are sagging and small, sometimes a Breast Augmentation can correct a minor looseness of tissue. Other cases require a Breast Lift with a Breast Augmentation at the same time. Some women notice a significant increase in breast size, or have always felt the breasts were too big, and a Breast Reduction is appropriate.

For the abdomen, if the problem is just a little extra fat, and the muscles are tight and the skin has retained elasticity, Liposuction may work perfectly. If the problem is loose, saggy skin with stretch-marks, and/or muscle laxity, a procedure to tighten the muscles and remove damaged skin-Abdominoplasty/Tummy Tuck- may be more appropriate. Please feel free to click on these sections at your convenience.
For dark spots, we have what I feel is the most effective treatment protocol available. It is a prescribed, custom tailored system of creams that has been effective in over 500 women under my care.
I urge you not to feel embarrassed by these natural changes that occur with pregnancy. If they bother you significantly, I am happy to educate you on your safe options for improvement.
